Foggy Lake on Blue Ridge Parkway Peaks of Otter

New fine art photography was recently added in the online gallery of fine art photographer Dan Carmichael.  The picture is of a foggy spring day on Abbott Lake at the Peaks of Otter on the Blue Ridge Parkway in Virginia.  Fine art giclee prints are available in traditional fine art color photography, as a painted photograph, and as black & white infrared photography.

The picture was taken at Abbott Lake which is located at Peaks of Otter on the Blue Ridge Parkway in Virginia.

It was a very foggy day, and this photo was taken in the late afternoon when the fog was very thick.  The lake has been in and out of periods of drought over the years but here the water level is high.  Spring comes later in the high altitudes of the Blue Ridge Mountains than it does in the flatlands, so this image is filled with the brilliant, bright greens of new spring growth.  The weather made the water choppy which created a nice texture in the picture.  Another photo was taken to produce a black & white version in infrared, and is available in the gallery.
